Dining with Allergies at Walt Disney World

When it comes to dining out, having food allergies or dietary restrictions can be challenging. At Walt Disney World Resort, the dedicated culinary team goes above and beyond to accommodate the dietary needs of as many guests as possible!

Planning a special meal during your trip to Walt Disney World? To ensure that you are able to dine safely at a specific restaurant, guests can complete a Special Diets Request Form. This is available for any member of a party that has 4 or more allergy requests, needs pureed meals, or has a medically restrictive diet. The form can be accessed by contacting Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com.

Food Allergies

Throughout Walt Disney World Resort, the majority of table- and quick-service restaurants can prepare meals without the use of many common allergens. These include; eggs, fish, peanuts and tree nuts, milk, sesame, shellfish, soy, and wheat.

For guests with less common food allergies, table-service and quick-service restaurants will do their best to prepare dishes without the use of these allergens. These include; gluten, lactose, corn, citrus, nightshades, and MSG. The accommodations for these less common allergens vary depending on location and availability.

Smaller dining locations, such as carts and kiosks serving food in the theme parks, are usually not able to accommodate requests and most do not have allergy friendly menus.

Dietary Restrictions

The majority of quick-service and table-service restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort prepare meals that are suited for many common diets. These include; low crab, low fat, low sodium, no added sugar, and plant based diets.

For guests adhering to a Kosher or Halal diet, most table service restaurants are able to prepare meals that can accommodate their needs. In most cases, Kosher or Halal meals must be requested at least 24 hours prior to the dining reservation. Additionally, there are several dining locations throughout the resort that can provide Kosher or Halal meals with no advance notice. A complete list of these restaurants can be found through the Disney World website or mobile app.

Helpful Tips

The culinary staff at Walt Disney World Resort includes Special-Diets Trained Cast Members that work to ensure that dietary requests are met and executed properly at all dining locations. While the cast members are highly trained, there are several steps guests can take to ensure their order is placed and prepared correctly.

  • Always tell the cast member assisting with your order that you have a special dietary request.

  • Ask for menus with allergen information at table- and quick-service restaurants. Ask for menu guides at buffets.

  • Ensure that your allergen request meal is delivered with a visual marker such as a toothpick, designated tray or sticker.

  • Always confirm your request when your order is delivered.
